Where are popular places for expats to live in Tokyo?

Azabu, Hiroo and Ebisu are common areas for foreign residents in Tokyo since they are convenient central neighborhoods, have tree-lined streets, and western style apartments. There are also major international supermarkets, English speaking hospitals/doctors, and many international schools.

Shibuya, Shoto, Kamiyama-cho are also attractive residential areas with some beautiful individual homes. Shoto is within easy access to Yoyogi Park, one of the largest parks in the city.

Aoyama and Omotesando are largely commercial areas, but also have residential areas mixed in. There are many apartments, restaurants, and shops, and living here may be for people who have a more active lifestyle.

Yoyogi Uehara, Tomigaya, and Oyamacho have quiet residential neighborhoods. There are spacious single-family homes with gardens available.

Daikanyama is a stylish residential area with private homes and smaller apartments, parks, and gardens. International schools and churches are close by, and it has easy access to Shibuya.
