Where are good places to go for a weekday trip from Kansai?

Amano Hashidate has been designated as one of Japan’s three most scenic views, and attracts many tourists throughout the year. Amano Hashidate which can be translated as “a bridge between heaven and earth” is a 3.6km long sand bar located in the northern part of Kyoto prefecture. The best spot to view Amano Hashidate is from Kasamastu Park which is located on the north side. You can explore the area on foot or by renting a bicycle. It takes approximately 2 hours 30min. from Kobe city to get there by car.

Kurashiki is another popular place for weekend trip. It is located in Okayama prefecture, and it takes approximately two hours from Kobe by car, and an hour from Shin Kobe Station by Shinkansen (bullet train). Kurashiki is a historical city, and there is an area called Kurashiki Bikan where many traditional structures remain from the old days.
